This will work for our western theme as well. Also, they may wear bandanas. There are still a number of people who need to send me an email and let me know if your student will be singing the evening of May 5. Please send to pelam@fortisacademy.net I apologize if you never received an email from me. There has been an issue with my email account that we are working on correcting.

ChoirReminder that the Grammar Theater and Choir Showcase is May 5th at 6:30 PM. We are working on learning and memorizing our songs in class. 4th and 5th grade has copies of their songs. Other grades will receive their paper copies next class period. Also I will post audio to aid practice. All families should have received an e-mail from me the end of February telling you of the choir classes participating. It would be great if you could let me know if your student will be participating that evening. The songs for 1-5 are centered around the Chisholm Trail and Cowboy songs that are unique to this area. We have talked about the arrival of the train and how that affected the cattle drives. Also, we have discussed barbed wire and the establishment of farms and what that did to the cattle drives. If you have any family stories about cattle drives this would be a good time to share them with your students. Dress for the choir portion is "western"....jeans, shirts, boots if they have some, etc. Go with what you have or can borrow. Guessing most have something that will work. Looking forward to this time for your students to show the performing skills they are developing!
